Prom is Bomb!

Oh my, oh MY! Let’s talk about prom! We are in the midst of the oh-so fun prom season. I don’t know about you, but I just love seeing everyone get dressed up, and it’s so fun how each girl’s outfit perfectly describes their style and personality.

My senior prom was this past weekend, and I swear on my life that everyone look jaw-dropping gorgeous! My friends and I danced all night and ate some dang good food (Benson’s > everything). It was the perfect way to start our oh-so-sought-after end to senior year. Today, I just wanted to talk about what I wore to prom. After all, this is a fashion post, so… I say we go from top to bottom, starting with hair and makeup!

Now, if you know me at all, you know that I am not the biggest fan of wearing makeup. It’s just not my thing, you know? But, I did make an exception for prom. Yeah. It’s kind of a big deal for me.

My dear sister, Ashton, is responsible for giving me the most incredible Bridget Bardot inspired hair (seriously obsessed with her) and doing my makeup! Boom. Yes. Ashton is obviously the best sister.

Now, let’s talk jewelry and accessories! So, my mom and I were in Norman the day before prom, and I still needed some earrings to really pull it altogether. My mom ended up finding the perfect pair at a boutique on Campus Corner called “Stella Rae’s.” Just look at these! They perfectly complement the neckline and simplicity of the dress. I think they add a little flair, and I am all about that!

I also got a hard-shell clutch that had a sort of marbled, gemstone look to it. I got it in one of my all-time favorite colors, sage green. It’s such a pretty clutch, I just love love love it! I’m sorry to say I didn’t get a picture of it, but we can thank my trusty pal TJ Maxx for providing me with the best bag!

My last accessory for the night was the classic corsage. My mom was once a florist, and she is just so dang talented with stuff like this, so obviously she needed to be the one to make it! She used a beautiful white rose and little succulents all throughout the corsage. I’m a less is more kind of gal when it comes to fashion, and she did a perfect job. The pink tulle in it actually came from my dress (I’ll be sure to explain that next), so it matched wonderfully! Thank you mom, once again for being so awesome.

Okay guys, drum roll please… the dress! Oh yes, the best part, the dress!! I must say, I am in love with it. I bought it online from BCBGMaxazria, and it actually fit beyond perfectly! I can’t help myself, it’s just so dang pretty. Like seriously, the prettiest dress I’ve ever owned. It’s a glorious color combination of the best shades of blush and beige. The top is just magnificent, it has partially exposed boning and a mesh-like fabric that kind of, sort of shows my midriff. The bottom is a tiered tulle wonderland. We did have to cut the very bottom a smidge because I didn’t want to risk stepping on and ripping the dress! Ashton did all the cutting, and let’s just say…it was nerve-racking at first. All ended well and we even got some tulle for my corsage!

Well, that’s all, my dear friends! I hope you enjoyed my prom look and if you are going to prom, let us see your pictures!! Tag us on Instagram, or use #livingwiselytimesthree for us to see!

Have a good one,

Grayson E. Wise

A special note to the talented Madelyn Eveld for all photography in this post.
