Today starts Day 1 of our fitness journey. What makes our journey more special than yours or anyone else’s? Absolutely nothing. Everyone’s journey is their own personal journey and is important. It doesn’t matter what your reason or goal is, the important thing is that you are out there doing it.
Is this my frst fitness journey? Ummm…no, I’m a fourty-seven year old woman, I’ve been on many fitness journeys and fad diets throughout my life for one reason or another. This one feels different for some reason, maybe it’s because I feel the need to reach my best fitness level before I turn the big 5-0, maybe I still need to take the Center of the Universe Detour at the Route 66 Marathon and get my coin because I wasn’t quite to the fitness level I needed to be to climb that hill at the last leg of the marathon, maybe I want a sub-5 hour marathon time, maybe it’s because my graduation gift to myself (I’ll tell you more about that at another time) is another marathon, The Hogeye in Springdale, Arkansas on April 14, maybe it’s all of them. Either way I’m here and hoping you hold me accountable. Watch out Route 66 I’m coming for you!
